Living in the country, the stars seemed to have more presence than our time in city. Night walks during summer were a mainstay of my life in our little hamlet. Often I could hear rustling in bushes, which could signal a fox or a rabbit or a wallaby hiding in the shadows. Sometimes these animals would scare and run out where I could see them, but for the most part, they would stay hidden in the shadows, leaving me to only guess at their identity. On moonless nights, we could sometimes see our resident boobook owl hide behind a streetlight, to silently drop down to the verge after prey. On moonlight nights, however, the light would flood down into the valley with the surrounding hills illuminated with a silvery shine. I hope I’ve captured these moments in this soap.
